Ricky Martin é indicado ao Grammy Americano como melhor álbum de Música Pop Latina.

Pouco após a realização da cerimônia da entrega do 16º Grammy Latino, eis que saiu a lista de indicados ao prêmio do 58º Grammy Americano, que é a premiação principal e mais importante da música. Entre os artistas americanos, conquistaram inúmeras indicações Taylor Swift, Florence & The Machine, Mark Ronson, Ed Sheeran e Kendrick Lamar. Inclusive, Kendrick Lamar e Taylor Swift, tem duas em conjunto: pela canção Bad Blood, que concorre a Melhor Videoclipe e Melhor Performance Pop de um Duo ou Grupo.

Artistas como Adele, que quebrou inúmeros recordes esse ano, só concorrerá no próximo Grammy. Uma vez mais, os latinos ficaram de fora dos principais prêmios, dados todos a artistas de língua inglesa Embora muitos não saibam, o Grammy americano também possui categorias voltadas à artistas latinos. 

Mas não é porque os latinos foram esquecidos pelas grandes categorias (Melhor Disco, Melhor Canção, Gravação do Ano) que eles não aparecerão pela premiação, afinal há algumas premiações dedicadas exclusivamente a eles. Dentre os indicados, está Ricky Martin (que recentemente declarou seu apoio a Hillary Clinton e fez duras críticas ao também candidato a presidência dos EUA Donald Trump), que briga para levar o gramofone de Melhor Álbum de Pop Latino por Terral.  Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Sanz e Pitbull também conquistaram indicações.
